Exhausted, I push open the heavy door. It gets heavier as a gush of wind rushes inward, trying to push me back inside. But nothing can make me turn around, Nothing can make me turn back into that place. I glance up, looking for a glimpse of something from the city. This is all she gives me. Until tomorrow, my love, I will return wanting the same.
It's obvious from my lack of blogging that photos and photo frequency have been failing recently. I tried to go out and take photos of the local Zombie walk but that night was a failure from when I first walked in the door. I was immediately intimidated by the other people there to do the same -- document the happening. Then when I finally convinced myself that the people WANTED their pic taken, my camera flash died. Then on my way back from picking up a friend and batteries, a drunk man backed into the car I was driving... blah, blah, blah. A total waste of a night.
Then I wanted to take pics when my family came to visit and none of them seemed to capture anything interesting. I am becoming way too busy with my new job and other activities.
Excuses, excuses, excuses...
So! in a recent attempt to capture something, anything, here is the following photo.
True, we are in the USA, but that doesn't mean that we can't party like the Germans with our very own Oktoberfest.
Perhaps a little early in the month, but I think the festival last weekend, outdoors and in the rain makes us worthy of the title we tied for earlier this year — Beer City USA.
A great time including a group chicken dance and keg roll.
M decided he wanted to look at a new car. I decided I'd ride down there too. Just on the spur of the moment...
Nothing to do for the rest of the afternoon? How about an afternoon of drinking, eating peanuts and yelling at people.
That's right, baseball.
It was the 2nd to last game for the Braves. If they won, they'd be a wildcard for the playoffs.
Being at baseball games is much more fun than watching on tv.
But it also gave me another excuse to try out my zoom lens and new(ish) camera, which i heard was designed for action sports shots.
I had fun trying to get a pic of the ball (man those guys can throw a ball) and also capturing the crowd, mostly diehard fans there pulling for their team that seemed to have no chance (unfortunately).
But i did get to enjoy a few moments of fame when I made my big screen depute while dancing to "She's a brick house" by the Commodores... ahh the fun of being at a game.
